TI-Nspire CX and TI-Nspire CX CAS are graphing calculators – the latest update to the TI-Nspire series developed by Texas instruments. These calculators provide a deeper understanding of the abstract Math and Science concepts. The mechanics of the previous versions have been enhanced to give CX series a thinner design and thickness of only 1.57 cm. The differentiating factor for the CX series is the rechargeable 1060 mAh Lithium-Ion battery.

All the features of previous Ti-Nspire models have been retained in the CX series. However, these versions no longer have the TI-84 keypads. Both models have 100 MB of user memory and 64 MB of RAM.

TI-Nspire CX CAS – Computer Algebra System calculator provides algebraic capability to characteristically solve equations, factor and expand variable expressions, complete the square, find anti derivatives, computer limits and exact solutions in irrational forms. This means you can solve equations like x+ 5x = 6x through your handheld. See also : TI 84 Plus C Silver Edition Vs TI Nspire CX.

The hardware and functions of both TI-Nspire CX and TI-Nspire CX CAS are more or less the same. They are so analogous, it’d be easy to mistake one for the other. However, the CAS version has a number of menus and submenus that you won’t find in the non-CAS version. The non-CAS version is available for $165 and the CAS version for $175 on US online stores. As compared to previous versions, the resolution is better; colors are bright and the display is easy to read for both CAS and non-CAS. The tradeoff with CAS version is that it is accepted only on SAT and AP. But, The CX is accepted in SAT, IB, AP and ACT.
