If you want some graphing calculator that is cheap, reliable, and can be utilized in dire situations (a.k.a. in tests), most probably you are now considering in getting some Texas Instruments model, either TI 82 or TI 83. Both models are viable options in SAT, PSAT/NMSQT, AP, and ACT exams. They are also similar in terms of price. TI 82 Vs TI 83

Both models do not support flash memory, so they are cool only if you don’t care about upgrading the operating system. They have a display screen of the same size, able to show 16×8 characters in 96×64 pixels. TI-82 is slightly smaller than TI-83, though they have an identical thickness. Still, TI-82 takes less space, which is mostly good.

Even though TI-82 and TI-83 operate with the same processor, Zilog Z80 6MHz, they are armed with different amount of RAM. TI-82 only has 28 KB total RAM. TI-83 boasts larger memory with 32 KB total RAM. Hence, TI-83 is likely to be able to perform somewhat faster, especially on complex calculations. Conclusion
So, if we need to choose between TI 82 and TI 83, the solution is plainly clear. We should go with TI 83. They are standing on the same price platform, but its performance and usability are much better than TI 82’s.
