Though these Texas Instruments calculators possess similar names, they are seemingly very dissimilar from each other. Texas Instruments TI-30Xa is the cheaper model, but appears way too plain. Texas Instruments TI-30X IIS, on the other hand, holds more sophisticated appearance. Which one is more reliable?
Display & Functionality
Beginning from the screen, we can already find out a distinction in each model. Texas Instruments TI-30X IIS features a neat two-line display that can show the input and the output simultaneously. This is very handy to determine whether you make some entry mistakes. Texas Instruments TI-30Xa still retains a one-line display like the other conventional calculators. Plus, TI-30X IIS also offers more functionalities than TI-30Xa. The number of buttons present on its keyboard is noticeably higher, plus a convenient set of directional navigators. As opposed to TI-30Xa that supports only one variable for statistical functions, TI-30X IIS can work with two variables.
Afraid that your gadget may run out of energy in dire circumstances (i.e. in exams)? It can be the case with TI-30Xa, but not with TI-30X IIS. While the TI-30Xa only relies on battery as the primary source of power, the TI-30X IIS utilizes two-way power. There is a battery that can run up the calculator if no source of light is available, but the calculator mainly takes power from the solar cell in order to lengthen the battery life.
